AI Detectors Guess. Limudi Proves.
Traditional AI detectors analyze text and estimate probability. Limudi watches the writing happen and provides behavioral proof. Here's why that matters.

The Limudi difference
Features we haven't seen anywhere else in the category.
Real Keystroke Capture
Every keystroke captured at millisecond resolution inside our editor. Not revision-history snapshots.
Per-Student Baseline
Compared against the student's own typing rhythm. Students can't submit work someone else wrote for them, because the cadence won't match.
Post-Submission Quiz
AI-generated questions after submission turn handing in work into a learning moment.
Gamified Milestones
Auto-generated checkpoints with a progress widget that beats procrastination.
Proactive AI Tutor
Suggestions surface as the student writes, like a teacher walking the classroom.
Wellbeing Alerts
Flags students who may need support, across chat, AI, and essay content.
6 Languages
Full UI, editor, AI feedback, and grammar in 6 languages, including Hebrew, Arabic, and Russian.
Group Assignments
Teacher-managed groups with per-student cadence capture and peer review.
Collaborative with Integrity
Students write together in real time, and we still capture each one's typing fingerprint.
The Problem with AI Detection
Content-based AI detection has fundamental limitations that can't be fixed with better algorithms.
High False Positive Rates
AI detectors frequently flag authentic student writing as AI-generated. A Stanford study found that over 60% of essays by non-native English speakers were falsely flagged as AI-written, and even when detectors avoid false positives, they fail to catch actual AI text once it's been lightly paraphrased.¹²
Easy to Circumvent
Simple paraphrasing tools reduce AI detector accuracy to random chance.² A comprehensive study testing 14 commercial detectors found none were both accurate and reliable.³ Even OpenAI shut down their own AI classifier after it achieved only a 26% true positive rate.⁴
No Proof of Authorship
Even when AI detectors flag content correctly, they can only say 'this might be AI-generated.' They cannot prove who actually wrote the text. Researchers have shown that as language models improve, reliable detection becomes mathematically impossible.²

Two Fundamentally Different Approaches
Content analysis vs. behavioral verification
Traditional AI Detectors
Analyze the finished text- Scan text for statistical patterns
- Estimate probability of AI generation
- Binary result: 'likely AI' or 'likely human'
- No information about the writing process
- Easily defeated by paraphrasing tools
Limudi Behavioral Verification
Watch the writing happen- Track every keystroke, pause, and revision
- Build a behavioral profile of each writer
- Score from 0-100 with detailed factor breakdown
- Complete revision history and timeline
- Virtually impossible to fake: captures your complete writing process
Isn't this just like Google Docs revision history?

Many tools read Google Docs revision history to show teachers a 'playback' of how an essay was written. This is not what Limudi does, and the difference matters.
Google Docs revision history gives you periodic snapshots: every few minutes, Google records what's in the document at that moment. Limudi captures real keystrokes inside our own editor: every key press, how long it was held, how long the gap to the next key, every paste, every pause. The result is a continuous biometric signal at millisecond resolution.
What each approach actually catches
| Scenario | Revision-history tools | Limudi |
|---|---|---|
| Student pastes directly from ChatGPT | Catches the paste | Catches the paste |
| Student retypes a ghostwritten essay at normal pace | Nothing suspicious, looks like normal writing | Mechanical typing rhythm, no composition pauses, doesn't match student's baseline |
| Student dictates an AI-read essay into voice-to-text | Text appears at speaking pace, looks normal | Dictation events explicitly detected and flagged |
| Student writes on paper first, then types it up | Looks like normal writing | Transcription mode vs composition mode distinguishable |
| Student uses AI for ideas, rewrites in their own voice | Paste maybe caught, rewrite invisible | Same: revision and cadence agree it's authentic (legitimate workflow) |
Revision history tells you what changed. Cadence analysis tells you how it was typed.
Google Docs revision history is like a security camera that takes a photo once a minute. You see the room change between frames, but you don't see the person moving. Limudi's cadence is like the full video, every keystroke, every pause, every rhythm.
Why we don't have a paste-a-paper detector
Every AI detection tool asks teachers to paste in a finished paper and get back a probability score. We don't offer this. Here's why.
The research is damning
A Stanford study found over 60% of essays by non-native English speakers were falsely flagged as AI-written¹. A University of Maryland study showed paraphrasing tools can reduce detector accuracy to random chance². Even OpenAI discontinued their own AI classifier after it achieved only a 26% true positive rate³.
The major vendors admit it doesn't work
Leading AI-detection companies publish their own limitations on their product pages: "No AI detector is 100% accurate." "Results should not be used as a final verdict." If the category leaders don't trust their own output for high-stakes decisions, neither should you.
We built a better approach instead
Watching the writing process itself (keystroke cadence, pauses, revisions, behavioral baselines) produces direct evidence. The cadence of a student who retyped someone else's work is structurally different from a student composing their own, regardless of how polished the final text looks.
Limudi does include an AI-content heuristic signal as part of its cadence pipeline, looking at hedging phrases, transition density, and sentence uniformity. But it's one factor among many, and teachers are never asked to trust it as a standalone score.
Evidence you can see
When a teacher reviews a submission in Limudi, they see:

Authenticity Score (0-100)
A transparent score built from multiple behavioral signals.
Complete Writing Timeline
Every keystroke, pause, deletion, and revision mapped over time. See exactly how the essay was composed.
Paste Detection Log
Cryptographically signed records of any copied content, with source detection and timestamps.
Cadence Analysis
Typing rhythm and pattern analysis that creates a unique behavioral fingerprint for each writer.
