Account, Privacy and Your Data

Your account settings are in the account menu. To open it, click your name and avatar at the top of the left sidebar. On a phone, tap the menu icon at the top left first to open the sidebar.

The account menu has:

  • Profile: your personal information, password, and login badge
  • Settings: language, auto-save, and privacy
  • Help & Feedback: help articles, contacting support, and sending feedback
  • Logout

Your Profile

Choose Profile in the account menu.

Avatar

  1. Click the avatar at the top of the page (Choose Avatar).
  2. Pick an emoji, or choose No Avatar.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Name, username and email

Your First Name, Last Name, and Username come from your school. They are marked Read-only and you cannot change them. If one of them is wrong, ask your teacher.

Most students cannot change their email address either. The exception is an email that was made up automatically when your account was created. It has an Auto-generated label. To replace it with your real email:

  1. Next to the email, click Edit.
  2. Type your email address.
  3. Click Save Changes.

The change takes effect straight away. If the address is already used by another account, you see "Email already in use".

Preferred Name

Your Preferred Name is how the AI will address you.

  1. Next to Preferred Name, click Edit.
  2. Type the name you want.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Changing your password

  1. In the Security card, click Change Password.
  2. Enter your Current Password.
  3. Enter a New Password and type it again in Confirm New Password. It must be at least 10 characters.
  4. Click Save Changes.

If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple, your account has no Limudi password to change.

Forgot your password? Use Forgot Password? on the login page, or ask your teacher. See Login and Account Issues.

If your teacher gave you a temporary password, Limudi asks you to choose a new one the first time you sign in.

My Login Badge

The My Login Badge card shows your badge QR code if your teacher made one for you. You can scan it on the login page with Badge Login. If you have no badge, the card says "You don't have a login badge yet. Ask your teacher to generate one for you." See Logging In with a Badge.

Settings

Choose Settings in the account menu. You can change:

  • Language: English, Español, Français, עברית (Hebrew), العربية (Arabic), or Русский (Russian). Hebrew and Arabic show the page right to left.
  • Auto-save: "Automatically save your work to browser storage". It is on by default. Leave it on so a copy of your work stays on your device.
  • Privacy & Data Settings: opens your privacy page (see below).

Privacy and Your Data

Open the account menu, choose Settings, then click Privacy & Data Settings. The page has three tabs.

How We Use Your Data

This tab explains what Limudi collects and why:

  • Your writing and assignments
  • How you type (to verify your work is original)
  • Your conversations with the AI tutor

Your school has authorized your use of Limudi. Limudi is FERPA, COPPA, and GDPR compliant. For full details, read the Privacy Policy or the Privacy and Data Security article.

Data Export

On the Your Data Rights tab you can download a copy of your data:

  • Download everything we hold: a full copy of everything Limudi holds about you.
  • Download for another service: a tidier copy of your work and messages that another service can read.

The file downloads straight away as a JSON file. You do not need to wait for an email.

Account Deletion

If you use Limudi through a school, you cannot delete your account yourself. The Your Data Rights tab says: "Your school looks after your account, so deletion is handled there. Ask your teacher or school administrator and they can request it for you."

Students who are not part of a school, and some university students, can delete their own account. They see a Delete My Account button on the Your Data Rights tab and must enter their password to confirm. Deletion is permanent.

Data Information

This tab lists the types of data Limudi keeps, how long it keeps them, and which outside services help run Limudi.
