My Classes and Joining a Class

How You Join a Class

Your teacher or school adds you to your classes. There is no class code for students to type in. Your teacher can add you in one of these ways:

  • Your school creates your account and adds you to classes (for example by importing a class list). Your teacher gives you your username and password, or you sign in with your school Google, Microsoft, or Apple account.
  • A sign-up link from your teacher. The page says "Welcome to Limudi!" and "Your teacher set up an account for you in" your class.
    1. Find your name in the list and click Yes, that's me. If it is not your name, click That's not me.
    2. Choose a username and a password (at least 10 characters). An email address is optional.
    3. Click Let's Go!.
  • A login badge. Your teacher prints a badge with a QR code. On the login page, click Badge Login and point your camera at the badge.
  • Google Classroom or another school system. If your class is connected, sign in with your school account using the matching button on the login page.

If a sign-up link says "This link has expired. Ask your teacher for a new one.", ask your teacher for a new link.

If you sign in with Google or Microsoft and see "Student accounts are created by your teacher. Please ask your teacher to add you to a class.", your teacher has not added you yet.

Seeing Your Classes

Click My Classes in the left sidebar. At a university this is called My Courses.

Each class has a card showing:

  • The class name and subject
  • Your teacher
  • How many students are enrolled
  • The school year, if your teacher set one

Click View Assignments on a card to see only that class's assignments on the My Assignments page.

If you see "You are not enrolled in any classes yet. Contact your teacher or administrator to be added to a class.", ask your teacher to add you.

Changing Classes

You cannot join or leave a class yourself. If a class is missing or you are in the wrong class, ask your teacher or your school's administrator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I was given a class code. Where do I enter it? A: Limudi does not use class codes for students. Ask your teacher for a sign-up link, a login badge, or your username and password.

Q: Can I be in more than one class? A: Yes. Each class has its own card on My Classes. On My Assignments and My Grades you can show one class at a time.

Q: What does "Join by Share Code" in an assignment do? A: That code joins a classmate's writing session for one assignment. It does not add you to a class. See Using the Editor.
