My Progress
The My Progress page shows how your writing is developing over time. Not every school has it. If you do not see My Progress in the sidebar, it is turned off for you.
Opening My Progress
Click My Progress in the left sidebar. The page is called My Writing Progress and is based on your recent assignments that your teacher has returned.
If you see "No progress data yet", you need more returned assignments before the page can show anything.
What the Page Shows
Your writing is measured in five areas:
- Ideas & Content
- Organization & Structure
- Development & Elaboration
- Language & Style
- Conventions (spelling, grammar, and punctuation)
The page has:
- Skill Profile: a chart of all five areas
- Strongest Area: where you score highest
- Most Improved: the area that has grown the most over your last few assignments
- Area to Focus On: where you have the most room to grow
- Detailed Breakdown: a card for each area with your average, a trend (Improving, Steady, or Needs attention), and a small chart. Click View assignments to see the score for each assignment.
The scores come from your teacher's rubric scores when they match these five areas. Otherwise they come from an AI review of your returned work. They are a guide to help you improve. Your teacher's grade is what counts.
Improvement Banner
When one of your areas is improving, the My Assignments page may show Nice improvement! with a link, See your progress. Click the X to hide it.
