Assignment Submission Issues

This guide helps you resolve problems with submitting assignments, errors in the editor, and situations where submitted work isn't appearing correctly.

The Submit Button Isn't Working

If clicking Submit Assignment doesn't submit your work:

  1. The editor is empty: you'll see "Please write some content before submitting". Write your answer first.
  2. A quiz comes first: some assignments ask you to take a short quiz before your work is submitted. Finish the quiz to complete the submission.
  3. It's a timed assignment: you must start the timed session before you can submit, and you can only submit while the time window is open.
  4. You're offline: submitting needs an internet connection. Check your connection and try again.

If you see an error message when you submit, note its exact wording. Include it when you ask your teacher or contact support.

I Submitted but My Teacher Can't See It

If your teacher reports they can't see your submission:

  1. Check your submission status: open the assignment. If the toolbar shows Submitted, your work was submitted.
  2. Refresh both pages: ask your teacher to refresh their submissions list.
  3. Check the right class: confirm your teacher is looking at the correct class and assignment.
  4. Wait a few minutes: in rare cases there's a brief delay. If it continues after 10 minutes, contact support.

If the toolbar still shows the Submit Assignment button, you haven't submitted yet. Click Submit Assignment to finish.

I Accidentally Submitted Before Finishing

Once submitted, you cannot edit your work unless the teacher returns it:

  1. Contact your teacher right away: explain what happened and ask them to return the submission for editing
  2. Your teacher can click Return for Revision on your submission
  3. Once it's returned, you can make changes and submit again

There is no way to un-submit without your teacher.

My Work Disappeared / I Lost My Draft

Limudi saves your work automatically as you type. If you think you've lost work:

  1. Reload the page: your most recent saved draft should load
  2. Check the save status: at the bottom of the editor, look for a check mark and Saved!. If it shows Not saved, your latest changes haven't been saved yet.
  3. Restore an earlier draft: click the Restore Draft button (clock icon) in the editor toolbar to see a list of your recent drafts with the time each was last saved
  4. Check your other devices: if you were writing on another device, that draft may not have synced yet

Limudi stores your draft on your device first, then syncs it to the server. Your last saved draft is kept even if your browser crashes.

If your draft is still missing, contact support with the assignment name, the approximate time of your last edit, and the device you were using.

The Assignment Isn't Showing in My Class

If an assignment your teacher mentioned isn't visible to you:

  1. Refresh the page: new assignments may take a moment to appear
  2. Check the correct class: make sure you're in the right class
  3. Confirm you're enrolled: if you recently joined the class, try logging out and back in
  4. Ask your teacher: the assignment may still be a draft that hasn't been published

The Editor is Not Loading / Blank Screen

If the editor doesn't load:

  1. Hard refresh: press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
  2. Clear browser cache: go to your browser settings and clear cached data
  3. Disable extensions: browser extensions (especially ad blockers and script blockers) can break the editor
  4. Try a different browser: Chrome and Firefox are fully supported
  5. Check JavaScript is enabled: the editor needs JavaScript to run

The editor needs a modern browser. Internet Explorer is not supported. Use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

Formatting is Lost After Saving

If bold, italic, headings, or other formatting disappears after saving:

  1. Use the editor toolbar to apply formatting
  2. Paste text as plain text first (Ctrl+Shift+V) before applying formatting
  3. Text copied from Word or Google Docs may carry formatting the editor can't keep
  4. If formatting is lost every time, try a different browser

Audio Recording Issues

If your assignment includes an audio recording, upload the recording before you submit. If you submit before it finishes uploading, you'll see "Please upload your audio before submitting."

I Submitted to the Wrong Assignment

You can't move or delete a submission after you submit it:

  1. Contact your teacher right away
  2. Your teacher decides how to handle it, for example by returning the submission to you
  3. Keep a copy of your text so you can submit it to the correct assignment
