Writing Authentically in Limudi
Limudi helps your teacher see that your work is your own. It does this with typing pattern analysis: it looks at how a piece of writing was typed, in addition to the final text.
What Limudi Records
While you write in the Limudi editor, it keeps a record of your writing process:
- How you type (to check that your work is original)
- When you add, delete, and change text
- When text is pasted in
- When you start and stop writing sessions
The editor toolbar shows Writing analysis active while this is happening. Hover over it to read "Your writing patterns are analyzed to verify authenticity".
Limudi also keeps your conversations with the AI Study Assistant. Your teacher can read them. The chat panel reminds you with the line Your teacher can see this chat.
Who Sees It
Your teacher sees the results of the analysis and a replay of how your writing was typed (the Writing Journey). Students do not see an authenticity score or the replay.
The analysis only looks at whether the writing is yours. It says nothing about how good the writing is. Your teacher grades that separately.
How to Write Authentically
Write in the Limudi editor
Type your work straight into the assignment editor. If you write somewhere else and paste the finished text in, Limudi has no writing process to show your teacher.
Write the way you normally do
- Take your time. Fast or slow typing is fine.
- Making mistakes and fixing them is normal.
- You can work in several sessions, on different days.
- Plan, draft, and revise as you would on paper.
Use the AI Study Assistant to learn
- Ask questions to understand the topic.
- Ask for feedback on your ideas.
- Write your answer in your own words. Do not paste AI replies into your work.
See Using the AI Study Assistant.
Quoting sources
If you use research, read it and then explain it in your own words. When you quote a source, use quotation marks and cite it. The editor's citation tools can help (see Using the Editor).
If You Need Accommodations
If a disability, an injury, or assistive technology (such as dictation software) changes the way you type, tell your teacher. Your teacher can take this into account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I see my own authenticity score? A: No. Only your teacher sees it.
Q: Does writing slowly or quickly matter? A: No. Everyone types at their own pace.
Q: I started my work in another app. What should I do? A: Use your notes as a guide and type the work again in your own words in the Limudi editor.
Q: Can the analysis make mistakes? A: Yes, no automatic check is perfect. Your teacher looks at the whole picture and can ask you about your writing process.
Q: Does it work when I'm offline? A: Yes. The editor keeps working offline and your work syncs when you reconnect. See Drafts and Offline Editing.
