The Mini Quiz

Some teachers ask for a short quiz when you submit an assignment. The questions are about the work you just wrote. They check that you understand your own work.

How You Know There Is a Quiz

When you click Submit Assignment, the submit window shows Mini Quiz Required: "After clicking Submit, you will be asked a short quiz about your work to verify understanding."

There is no quiz when your work is very short (under about 100 characters) or when you submit an audio recording only.

Taking the Quiz

  1. In the submit window, click Submit Assignment.
  2. The Understanding Verification Quiz opens and prepares questions from your work. This takes a few seconds.
  3. Read the instructions and click Start Quiz. Click Cancel if you want to go back to your work. Nothing is submitted.
  4. Answer each question. There are usually 3 questions. They can be multiple choice, true or false, or a short written answer.
  5. Use Next and Previous to move between questions. Click Finish Quiz after the last one.

A timer shows how long you take. There is no time limit, but your answer time is recorded for your teacher.

If your work was long, the quiz covers only the first part of it.

After the Quiz

You see Quiz Complete! with your score, how many answers were correct, and your time.

  • Click Continue to Submit to submit your work with this result.
  • Click Retake Quiz to try again with new questions. Your teacher can see how many attempts you made.

If the Quiz Does Not Load

If you see "Failed to generate the quiz. Please try again." or "The AI service is busy right now. Please try again in a moment.", click Retry. You can also click Submit without quiz. Your teacher will see that the quiz was skipped.

If AI help is off for you, or your school has reached its AI limit, your work is submitted without the quiz.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the quiz score count toward my grade? A: Your teacher decides how to use it. Ask your teacher.

Q: Can I see my quiz again later? A: Your teacher can see your quiz answers. Students do not have a link to view the quiz after submitting.

Q: Timed assignments: is there a quiz when time runs out? A: No. When the timer ends, your work is submitted automatically without a quiz.
