Class Memberships and Enrollment

Two tabs on the Admin Dashboard put people in classes:

  • Class Memberships: one row per person per class. Good for adding, moving or removing a few people.
  • Enrollment Matrix: a grid of students and classes. Good for enrolling many students at once.

Open the dashboard with Dashboard (or Admin) in the sidebar.

Universities may see Course Enrollment and Course Registration as the tab names.

Class Memberships

The table shows Class, User, Role and Added (the date). Filter it with Filter by School, the class filter and Filter by Role. Clear All Filters resets them.

Add someone to a class

  1. Click the round plus button at the bottom right of the page (Add Member to Class).
  2. Choose the class, the user and the role: Teacher, Teaching Assistant or Student.
  3. Click Add.

Move or remove someone

On the person's row:

  • Move to Class moves them to another class in the same school. Choose the class under To class and click Move.
  • Remove from Class takes them out of that class.

Move several people at once

  1. Tick the boxes next to them.
  2. Click Move Selected.
  3. Choose the new class and click Move.

Enrollment Matrix

  1. Select a school under School. With one school, it may already be selected.
  2. Narrow the grid with the grade and class filters, or Search Students by name or username.
  3. Tick a box to enroll a student in a class. Untick it to unenroll them.
  4. To enroll every visible student in one class, tick the box in that class's column header.
  5. Changes show in green (added) or red (removed) and are not saved yet. The top of the grid shows how many unsaved changes you have.
  6. Click Save Changes. Discard throws the changes away.

If the grid says there are no classes, create them first on the Classes tab. If it says there are no students, create student accounts on the Users tab first.

Other ways to change classes

  • Edit a user on the Users tab and use Add Class under Class Memberships.
  • Use Manage Students on a class row in the Classes tab.
