Roster Import
Bulk roster import from a CSV file is run by the Limudi team. Administrators and Organization Admins do not have an import screen. Send your roster to Limudi support and the team imports it into your school.
Ask for an import
- Prepare a CSV file with one row per person (see below).
- Contact support through Help & Feedback in the account menu or the support page. Say which school the roster is for.
- Send the file the way the support team asks. Do not paste student details into a chat.
The CSV columns
| Column | What to put in it |
|---|---|
firstName | First name |
lastName | Last name |
email | Email address |
username | Username, 2 to 50 characters: letters, numbers, dots, hyphens and underscores |
role | student or teacher |
classes | Class names, separated by commas, such as "Math 101, English 201" |
Each row needs an email, a username, or both. A student without an email signs in with their username.
After the import
- Each new account gets a temporary password. The person must change it at their first sign-in.
- People who already had an account are not created twice.
- Students listed with classes are put in those classes.
To get students signed in, you can:
- Share the sign-in details the Limudi team gives you.
- Share a claim link so students set up their own sign-in. Teachers do this from their class page. Organization Admins can also use Claim Links on the Schools tab. See Schools and Branding.
- As an Organization Admin, use Export credentials on the Schools tab to create fresh temporary passwords for everyone who has not changed theirs yet.
Other ways to add people
- One at a time: click New User on the Users tab. See Managing Users.
- Google Classroom: teachers import their own Google Classroom courses, and the students come with them. See Google Classroom Rostering.
- Teachers signing up: add your school's email domain so teachers who sign up join your school. See School Approvals.
