Reviewing a Submission
Open an essay from Admissions in the sidebar by clicking its row or Review. Back to submissions returns you to the list.
The top of the page shows the applicant, the program, the date submitted and the word count.
How it was written
The authenticity panel at the top shows how the essay was written:
- The Authenticity Assessment from typing pattern analysis.
- Content Composition: how much was typed, pasted or added another way.
- Baseline Comparison: the typing baseline samples the applicant gave before writing. Applicants do a short typing exercise before they start the essay.
- Writing Duration: how long the applicant spent writing.
Click View Writing Journey to replay the writing step by step, with sessions and paste events. See Writing Journey.
The assessment is a guide. It measures whether the applicant wrote the text, and says nothing about how good the essay is. Read it alongside the essay.

AI Review
Click Generate AI Review for an AI analysis of the essay. It shows a Suggested grade, the Rubric scores when the program has a rubric, and Feedback. Click Regenerate for a new one.
The AI review is a second opinion. Your rating is your own decision.
Your rating and recommendation
Under Reviewer Rating & Feedback:
- Choose an Overall Rating from 1 to 5.
- Choose a Recommendation: Admit, Waitlist, Reject or Needs More Review.
- Write your assessment under Internal Feedback.
- Click Save Review.
Ratings and feedback are visible to your organization only. Applicants never see them.
Each essay holds one rating, one recommendation and one feedback text. If another reviewer saves after you, their values replace yours. Use notes for comments that should stay side by side.
Reviewer Notes
- Type a note in the box.
- Click Add Note.
Every reviewer in your organization sees all the notes on an essay, with who wrote each one and when. You can delete your own notes with the trash icon.
A recent essay with no notes counts toward Pending Review on your dashboard.
