AI Chats
AI Chats in the left sidebar lets you read your students' conversations with the AI assistant across your classes. Students are told in the chat panel that their teacher can see the chat.
The Conversation List
Each row is one student's conversation on one assignment. It shows the student, the assignment, how long ago they chatted, the number of messages, and a short AI summary of the conversation. Before a summary is ready, the row shows the student's first question.
Rows can have flags:
- Circumvention attempt: the student tried to get the AI to write or answer for them.
- Insightful exchange: the conversation shows real thinking.
- Long exchange: 10 or more messages.
Flags marked AI were suggested by AI. Read the conversation before acting on one.
Filtering
- All classes, All assignments and Select dates...
- Flag chips: All, Circumvention, Insightful
- Search by student name... (also searches the summaries)
- Sort by Most recent, Most messages or Flagged first
- Clear filters removes all filters
The class page's AI Chats button opens this page filtered to that class.

- View submission opens the student's work on the review page, when they have submitted.
- Add flag lets you mark the conversation as Circumvention attempt or Insightful exchange, or remove the mark.
You can also open a conversation from a chat event in the Activity Log tab of the Journeys page.
