Schoology Integration
Limudi connects to your school's Schoology so you can import your sections with their students, keep rosters up to date, and send grades to the Schoology gradebook.
A school administrator sets Schoology up once for the school. After that, each teacher connects and imports their own sections.
Step 1: School Setup (Administrator)
An administrator does this once:
- In Limudi, open the account menu, choose Integrations, and click the Schoology card. The Schoology Setup wizard opens.
- Find Instance: enter your school's Schoology address.
- Connect: enter the Consumer key and Consumer secret from your school's Schoology app. Add the two callback addresses the wizard shows to that Schoology app.
- Click Save and connect.
Limudi checks the key with Schoology before saving it. Only a school administrator can save the school's key. A teacher who opens the wizard first sees "Only a school administrator can set up Schoology for your school."
Step 2: Connect Your Account (Teachers)
- Open the account menu and choose Integrations.
- Click the Schoology card.
- Click Connect Schoology and approve the request in Schoology.
If your school's connection is used instead of your own, the page already shows as connected.
Importing Sections
Available Courses lists your Schoology sections.
- Click Import next to a section, or use Select all or tick several, then click Import selected.
- Limudi creates a class linked to the section, makes you its teacher, and imports the students on its active roster.
Students who already have a Limudi account are added to the class. Students without one get an account using their Schoology email address.
How Students Sign In
On the website, students can click Schoology on the Limudi sign-in page and enter your school's Schoology address. For students who need another way in, use Manage Invite Link on the class page or a login badge. See Managing Classes and Students.
Keeping Rosters Up to Date
Each imported section appears under Your Courses with when it last synced:
- Sync re-reads the roster for that class.
- View Class opens the class in Limudi.
- Sync All Rosters re-syncs every linked class.
Limudi also syncs linked classes by itself about once a day.
Grades Going Back to Schoology
When you return a student's work in a linked class, the grade is sent to the matching assignment in Schoology. The Gradebook warns you if some grades were not sent, with the reason.
Disconnecting
Click the disconnect button on the Schoology page and confirm. It appears only when you connected with your own Schoology account. Your classes and student work stay in Limudi, and grades stop syncing.
Troubleshooting
"Schoology is not set up for your school yet." An administrator needs to run the setup wizard (Step 1).
Students are missing after an import Limudi imports active enrollments only. Check that the students are active in the Schoology section, then click Sync. If Schoology did not share a student's email, Limudi lists their names.
The connection expired A banner appears at the top of the page. Click Reconnect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does importing a section pull in Schoology assignments? A: No. The import brings in the section and its roster. You create assignments in Limudi.
Q: Can two teachers import the same section? A: A section links to one Limudi class. If a colleague already imported it, ask your school administrator to add you to that class.
